NEPA Holiday Events Light Up the Season

Dazzling Light Shows

Nay Aug Park Holiday Light Spectacular

5 pm – 10 pm Through January 2

Nay Aug Park, Scranton

This annual drive-through event is a feast for the eyes featuring 100 light displays that start at the park entrance on Mulberry Street. The display is free and open to the public.

Festival of Lights at Stone Hedge Golf Course

Sunday – Thursday 5 pm – 9 pm

Friday – Saturday 5 pm – 10 pm

Runs through December 31 (closed Christmas Eve)

Stone Hedge Gold Club, Tunkhannock

This 2.5-mile light extravaganza has become a holiday tradition for many families. Enjoy refreshments and s’mores by the fire. Free photos with Santa are available Sunday through Wednesday nights. Tap for pricing, admission information, and details.

Joy through the Grove

Open nightly 5:30 pm – 9 pm

Runs through December 31 (Closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day)

Everyone’s favorite summertime park lights up the holiday night with a drive-through Christmas light display. The display begins near the Impulse roller coaster and travels down the park’s main boulevard throughout the campground. Visit Knoebels Christmas Village while you are there. Light the Night at Sugarloaf Golf Club

Thursday – Sunday 5 pm – 10 pm (Closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day)

Trees Aplenty & Holiday Markets

Festival of Trees

December 2 – January 7

Courthouse Square, Scranton

The Festival of Trees is an annual display of 25 live trees decorated by a variety of community organizations to raise funds for Toys for Tots.

Downtown Hazleton Holiday Celebration

Hazleton City Hall Block

December 7

4 pm – 9 pm – Vendor market, food trucks & Hazleton Library free craft.

5 pm – 6:15 pm – City Hall tree lighting and a visit from Santa Clause.

Enjoy carolers, dancers, crafts, food vendors, the annual tree lighting, and a visit with Santa & Mrs. Clause. Plus, a night of musical performances at Christ Lutheran Church in Hazleton after the tree lighting.

Ho Ho Ho Holidays Spent with Santa

Santa on the Square

December 10 – 12 pm to 2 pm

Public Square, Wilkes-Barre

Children will enjoy free photos with Santa courtesy of the City of Wilkes-Barre. Refreshments will also be available.

North Pole Limited Train Rides

December 10, 11, 17 & 18

Departs from Steamtown National Historic Site for a magical hour-long trip with Santa through the Scranton Yards and Nay Aug Park. Tap for times, pricing, and details. 

Santa & his Elf at Edward’s Garden Center

Weekends through December 18 – 11 am – 3 pm

Edward’s Garden Center, River St., Forty Fort

Bring the entire family to view the outdoor railroad display and the “Home of Gnomes,” and enjoy a visit with Santa.

Holiday Movie Series

West Pittston Library

December 3, 10, and 17 at 12 pm

Spend a Saturday afternoon with your friends at the West Pittston Library for a holiday movie and light refreshments. Tap for details. Movies will be announced on the library’s Facebook page.

Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Holiday Show

December 9 at 7 pm – Scranton Cultural Center, Scranton

December 10 at 7 pm – F.M. Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre
