Our Favorite 4th of July Food & Drink

Bobby Flay’s Crunchburger

This burger is one of Bobby’s signatures at Bobby’s Burger Palace, his counter-serve burger chain restaurant. If you know Bobby, you know he’s one of the all-time best when it comes to cooking on the grill. So, when we learned he shared this recipe with foodnetwork.com we were pretty excited. We hope you enjoy this awesome burger as much as we do and have an enjoyable and safe 4th of July!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80-85% lean)
  • salt & pepper
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 slices of your favorite cheese
  • 4 potato hamburger buns (toasted to your liking)
  • 4 handfuls of potato chips
  • lettuce, tomato, onion
  • horseradish mustard mayo (mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes)
    • 1/4 cup mayo (your preference)
    • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
    • 2 tablespoons horseradish
    • salt & pepper

Directions:

  • make 4 equal sized burger patties out of the 1.5 lbs of ground beef seasoning with salt and pepper
  • brush burger patties with olive oil so they don’t stick on the grill
  • cook burger 4 minutes on each side (or until desired doneness)
  • add cheese and let melt while the burgers finish cooking
  • put cooked burgers on bun and top with horseradish mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion & potato chips

Pineapple Rosé Sangria (Enjoy Responsibly)

We found this refreshing batch cocktail on The Roasted Root, where the very talented Julia Mueller specializes in tasty recipes taking into consideration common dietary restrictions. Needless to say, it’s quickly become one of our go-to cocktails to serve friends and family at summer gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of rosé
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1-pint blackberries
  • 1-pint raspberries
  • 1 cup of chopped pineapple

Directions:

  • Add ingredients into a serving bowl or pitcher (depending on how many batches were made) and serve with ice
